Who is Tamar?

@ 06:16 AM (24 months, 18 days ago)

Rape has been with us since the beginning of time. Here is the story of Tamar from the Bible. I dedicate my research and advocacy to this woman. The sister of Absalom son of David.

2 Samuel 13:1-32 (New International Version)

Amnon and Tamar

1 In the course of time, Amnon son of David fell in love with Tamar, the beautiful sister of Absalom son of David.

2 Amnon became frustrated to the point of illness on account of his sister Tamar, for she was a virgin, and it seemed impossible for him to do anything to her.

3 Now Amnon had a friend named Jonadab son of Shimeah, David's brother. Jonadab was a very shrewd man.

4 He asked Amnon, "Why do you, the king's son, look so haggard morning after morning? Won't you tell me?"  Amnon said to him, "I'm in love with Tamar, my brother Absalom's sister."

5 "Go to bed and pretend to be ill," Jonadab said. "When your father comes to see you, say to him, 'I would like my sister Tamar to come and give me something to eat. Let her prepare the food in my sight so I may watch her and then eat it from her hand.' "

6 So Amnon lay down and pretended to be ill. When the king came to see him, Amnon said to him, "I would like my sister Tamar to come and make some special bread in my sight, so I may eat from her hand."

7 David sent word to Tamar at the palace: "Go to the house of your brother Amnon and prepare some food for him."

POEMS BY AUSTRALIAN RAPED BY U.S.MILITARY MAN.

@ 07:44 AM (24 months, 22 days ago)
THE   DUNGEON  OF  DARKNESS
I was taken to the dungeon of darkness
Known to where villains take their prey
With skeleton bones surrounding the caves
Where they too, once screamed for help like me
Some infants only a few months old,
Too little to have their stories told
Children so young and at a tender age
Trusting, believing, but they were being sold.
Young women, sometimes old
The vomit squishes between your toes
The bones rattle in the wind
No. Please don't leave me here all alone,
With the rest of the number of endless victims.
Pitifully I seek the exit to the cave,
The dark pits of the dungeon with its walls so thick -
That only the evil below who took us here can hear.
Screaming frantically for the door
With  'Survivor ' written on it,
In pearly white, with the light
Seeping through the cracks.
Keep on pushing away, the heaviness of the door
To escape. With the same weight
Of his naked flesh against me -
When he raped me of my dignity -
And tore out my heart with his wicked manner.
Don't give up the fight -
Keep pushing till freedom shows its welcoming eyes.
Someone opens the door from outside...
Yes, this way they whisper...You can be free...
Run - run as fast as you can-
You can't catch me I'm the gingerbread man.
But No - evil grabs me by the ankles
And I fall flat on my face - What a disgrace -
I was so close to escape!
But someone has helped me,
And I am released from his disgusting embrace.
He will now lie in this place.
I run till I find the passage out
The breeze hits my face as I see freedom ahead of me
And freedom sees me.
Safe at last...
The door to the dungeon has slammed shut
I have left it all behind.
God says let us forgive those who trespass against us
And in time, I will.
One thing I know for sure though is
Maybe now that I have been
In the dark depths of the dungeon
I now can show others the way out...
To the place of peace and comfort -
We can all find in our heart.
Praise God.

It Will Never Be Enough.

How many  times could I write
I hate you...and it would never be enough
For each waking moment of
my day you have haunted my mind
And crept into my dreams at night
You are the lowest of low life
But only  can the real Judge pass
His sentence upon you.
I will never give up for you
have tormented my soul
And until justice is served
May the pain you give me be
ten fold.

AUSTRALIAN WOMAN'S PETITION

@ 09:37 PM (24 months, 22 days ago)
Very soon a petition will be online concerning this woman's plight.
Meanwhile....

In the early hours of an April day in 2002, an Australian woman  was raped by a U.S. sailor from the USS Kitty-Hawk, inside her van in a parking lot in Yokosuka, Japan, outside a U.S. military base. After receiving an indifferent response from police, learning there was no 24-hour rape crisis center in Japan, and finding that neither Japanese prosecutors nor the U.S. Navy intended to press charges against the alleged perpetrator, she decided to take action so that future victims would not have to go through what she did.
The woman filed a lawsuit in 2002,seeking damages from the U.S. sailor, who was stationed aboard the aircraft carrier USS Kitty Hawk.
In November 2004, two years later, the Tokyo District Court declared in the suit that the man had in fact raped the woman and ordered him to pay 3 million yen in compensation. However the woman has no way of collecting from the man because he fled Japan before the suit ended, did not notify  any party involved at the Tokyo District Court and was in fact discharged by the U.S. Military in 2002. His lawyer had constantly said that he was in Japan. On the day before the man was supposed to appear in court, his lawyer resigned saying that the accused was missing. His whereabouts have been  unknown since then. The woman also tried to hold the man's lawyer for contempt of court but the lawyer died before she could take action.

It is said to be true that while in Japan, all active duty military personnel are subject to both U.S. and Japanese laws. It is understood that members of the US Forces in Japan have certain rights, privileges and special protections  which have been accorded to them by the  Status of Force Agreement (SOFA) which defines the relation between the U.S. military and host country. However it is also believed that in return, the SOFA makes it the duty of all  members of the U.S. Forces to respect the laws of Japan and to abstain from any activities inconsistent with the spirit of this Agreement .

We believe that military commanders are  responsible for seeing that individuals under their authority who run afoul with host - country laws ensure that these laws be respected while in the host country of Japan.  The Uniform Code of Military Justice, the foundation of military law in the United States regulating military personnel conduct must also be re-examined to strongly enforce prosecution of sexually violent activities globally.
The US military was fully aware that the defendant had an ongoing court case against him in Japan.
Therefore the law was not upheld  when he was discharged by the US Military immediately after retaining a lawyer and blatantly fleeing this court case for rape against him.
